Turkeys 4 America Midwest - - Bobby Harvey
Hi, my name is Bobby Harvey and I live in Northern Illinois. Since October 2002, I have proudly run Turkeys 4 America Midwest. I became involved in Turkeys 4 America when I met Dan and Betsy  in Washington, D.C., where we were accepting the Prudential Spirit of Community Award for volunteerism.
To date, Turkeys 4 America Midwest has provided over 143,474 servings to needy families throughout the Midwest region thanks to the generosity of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Perdue Farms, the Greater Chicago Food Depository, hospitals, schools, and many midwest communities. Our goal is to keep expanding our project throughout the country in the effort to bring even more holiday meals to those in need! Our most recent even was the 2006 turkey distribution in Chicago's Garfield Park neighborhood where 11 year old Sai and almost 10 year old Alexa passed out 250 turkeys. Sai and Alexa Nimmagadda raised money through their schools, collected door to door and stood out in front of the local Jewel grocery store asking for donations. It was a great experience to see this program touching so many lives!
